Hasina government hacked and manipulated Facebook with honeytrap: Zulkarnain Saer
Along with honey trap, the fled government has manipulated the Facebook pages of many citizens by targeting opponent voice and financial institutions thru intelligence. They have even been smuggled out of the country, said Bangladeshi expatriate investigative journalist and analyst Zulkarnain Saer Khan.
He expressed this opinion in the civil dialogue held at BASIS Conference Center in Karwanbazar of the capital on Saturday. Fahim Mashroor, convener of Civil Reform Bangladesh 2.0, moderated this civil dialogue on legal interception, right to privacy and freedom of speech in the new Bangladesh.
Zulqarnain Saer Khan Sami was connected online in this session. He said, "Every country has a bad page." But they don't harm citizens. So, understand why privacy laws are needed. What happened to us here is very despicable. After Sheikh Hasina left on August 5, several CDs were recovered from Ganobhaban. If what's on those CDs is so horrendous as to be revealed, the political careers of many politicians will be over forever. These were with Sheikh Hasina. They must be destroyed.
Saer said, the previous government has forced many people to do injustice by trapping them in this way. He called upon to interim government to find out the way or think about NTMC, whether to bring it under accountability or return the unnecessary devices to vendor which is not to use in the country.
